On 27 April 2022, a virtual workshop to enable intergenerational dialogue to break the long-standing cycle of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) was held in Botswana. The workshop is a joint initiative between an international peace NGO called Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), International Peace Youth Group(IPYG), and Volunteer Hub(VH), a social enterprise that contributes to alleviate socio-economic and environmental challenges in Botswana. The war between Ukraine and Russia killed over 3,000 people and is lasting nearly 4 months since the day the war broke out. There are no signs of ending the shootings in parts of the world. While coping with the new normal, the international community faces new concerns over the risk of armed conflict increasing in various places including their own country. The emergence of a new conflict structure requires a new approach to problem-solving.   On January 24th, the ‘8th Anniversary of the January 24th HWPL Day of Peace,’ which was the international peace conference celebrating the Peace Day, was held virtually and over 22,000 social representatives from 51 countries attended. The event commemorated a civilian-led peace agreement made between the Islam and Catholic communities in Mindanao 8 years ago.
